Food Funny

Here's a good one from Sharon Mitcheltree:

A man and a woman were having dinner in a fine restaurant. Their waitress, taking another order at a table a few paces away noticed that the man was slowly sliding down his chair and under the table, with the woman acting unconcerned.

The waitress watched as the man slid all the way down his chair and out of sight under the table. Still, the woman dining across from him appeared calm and unruffled, apparently unaware that her dining companion had disappeared.

After the waitress finished taking the order, she came over to the table and said to the woman, "Pardon me, ma'am, but I think your husband just slid under the table."

The woman calmly looked up at her and replied firmly, "No he didn't. He just walked in the door."

A Word from the Chef

We're beginning the new year with a series of weekly themes on healthy foods. These themes will include fruits, vegetables, and beans, and we'll take a look at some common cooking oils with an eye to helping you make healthy decisions at the supermarket. This week our theme is whole grains, and in addition to providing healthy and wholesome recipes containing whole grains, I will use this space to discuss some of the health benefits associated with a diet containing whole grains. As with all my articles on the subject of nutrition, these will be meticulously researched, cleverly written, and will take me no longer to write than the average amount of time between my numerous daily naps, so please stay tuned.

P.S. If you appreciate receiving the best darned recipezine in the whole darned universe free of charge every day, then please consider donating a dollar or two to help keep it coming. Thank you for your support.
