About
"The Chef"
Joe Barkson has been
writing and publishing the internet's most popular
recipezine as The Chef at Worldwide Recipes since
January, 1998. He came to food writing relatively late
in life, following checkered careers in computer
marketing, graphic design, and teaching high school
Spanish. A lifelong interest in food and cooking ("I've
been eating since I was a baby," he is fond of saying)
was nurtured by extensive international traveling during
his formative years, thanks to his father's career with
IBM, and this accounts for the emphasis on world cuisine
in his choice of themes for the recipezine. Twice
married and twice divorced, he is the proud father of
two adult sons who share his interest in food but
somehow avoided inheriting his legendary ability to take
numerous daily naps. He currently lives in Monticello,
Georgia with his mother and a hyperkinetic schipperke
that answers to Cooky when the mood strikes him. |
